Mo Johnston

Johnston started his career at Partick Thistle, scoring over 40 league goals in his first three seasons at the club. He then moved onto Watford in England, and during his first season at Watford, he scored 20 goals in 29 appearances. He helped stir Watford to the FA Cup final in 1984, with the reputation of an energetic and dangerous striker. After two seasons at Watford, he moved onto Celtic. He scored 14 goals in his first 17 matches for Celtic and his skill and courage soon made him a permanent fixture in the Scotland squad. After two splendid seasons at Celtic he moved to Nantes in France, scoring 24 goals in 60 appearances. In 1989, Johnston caused a storm when he signed for Celtic’s bitter rivals, Rangers. Johnston was an integral part of the Scottish first team during the 1990 world cup finals, scoring one goal in the tournament.

David Speedie

Speedie signed for English outfit, Chelsea, in 1982, he was a hard worker of the ball, winning the ball with his courage and skill. He helped Chelsea to winning the English second division in the 1983-84 season. Speedie made his international debut in a 1-0 victory over England in 1985. After five years playing for Chelsea, he moved to Coventry for a staggering £750,000 in July 1987, he soon established himself into the heart of the Coventry team. In February 1991, he moved to Liverpool.

 

Stuart McKimmie
International debut – 27th May 1989 V England
McKimmie started his career off at Dundee during the period of 1980-84, appearing on 80 occasions for the club. He used his time with Dundee to develop all aspects of his game. His brilliance under pressure and flair in attack marked him out as one of Scotland’s best full backs, and he moved to Aberdeen in 1984 for £90,000. Just before the 1990 world cup finals, Stuart McKimmie sealed victory over the world champions, Argentina, by scoring the winning goal of the match against them.
